Few things can make you look as healthy, vibrant, and youthful as having supple, glowing skin, bursting with vitality. Radiant skin is one of the clearest signs of good health and an effective skincare regimen – and it can’t be entirely faked, no matter how expensive your make-up is.

If you are worrying that your skin is looking a little dull and tired lately, don’t worry – there are plenty of ways to get glowing skin, without the use of Botox or chemical peels. Some methods may require a little more patience than others, as a dewy complexion can’t be achieved overnight. However, each technique comes with its own unique benefits as well as restoring your skin to its former glory.

Intrigued? Read on to discover how to make your skin glow using seven simple, all-natural, and non-invasive methods. Add them to your daily beauty regimen and your skin will be radiant in no time.

1. Clear out your pores

If you are wondering how to get glowing skin, the first step you should take is to make sure that your pores are as clear and clean as possible. Clogged pores are one of the main causes of dull, lacklustre skin. So, in order to restore radiance to your face, it’s essential that you give them an intensive clean that penetrates deep into your cells.

To achieve this, be sure to wash your face thoroughly in the morning and at night before you go to bed, gently massaging a small amount of facial cleanser into your skin with circular motions of your fingers. Start near your nose and eyes and work your way outwards. You should also use an exfoliating scrub a few times a week, to make sure any stubborn grime and bacteria are gently but thoroughly removed from your pores.

2. Feed your face

When it comes to achieving glowing skin, the most important thing of all is to eat a healthy balanced diet, with plenty of fresh fruits, vegetables, fatty fish, and nuts. Foods which contain antioxidants such as resveratrol and ellagic acid are particularly beneficial, as they can help to protect your skin from UV damage. Sprinkle some blueberries onto your breakfast porridge, tuck into a punnet of grapes as a healthy snack, and treat yourself to a delicious salad with wedges of avocado and some hot smoked salmon.

3. Stay hydrated

Plump, hydrated skin cells are essential for that wholesome glow. If you want to add some extra radiance to your complexion, make sure you are drinking plenty of water and other liquids throughout the day. Eight glasses a day should be your minimum intake, to keep your skin hydrated and your body functioning at its optimum levels.

Another way to hydrate your face is, of course, to moisturise. Using a moisturiser boosts your skin’s luminosity and keeps the cells plump and firm. Be sure to apply your moisturising cream night and morning, particularly during the winter months, as the cold air will suck moisture from your skin and leave it looking and feeling dry and lacklustre. When choosing a moisturiser, it’s a good idea to look for one that has been enriched with vitamins – and one that contains an SPF is essential, particularly during spring and summer.

4. Apply a gentle toner

Once you have moisturised your skin in the mornings and evenings, it’s a good idea to apply a little toner to your face with a cotton wool pad. Toner is often forgotten in our daily skincare routines, but it has an important role to play in caring for your skin. Not only will it help to shrink your pores and prevent oil build-up by balancing the pH levels in your skin. Toner can also help your skin cells to retain moisture, leaving them looking firmer, plumper and more radiant.

5. Try some at-home pampering with a DIY face mask

While there are plenty of effective skin-plumping face masks available, you can also treat yourself to a regular homemade mask that will both nourish your skin and make it glow. Mash together some soothing nutrient-rich ingredients such as honey, strawberries, and perhaps some oats or ground almonds, then add half a cup of natural yogurt to bind it all together. You can even add a dash of rosewater or a couple of drops of lavender oil, to help even out your skin tone and impart a wonderful floral fragrance.

6. Use Vitamin C serum

Vitamin C is an active ingredient in many skincare products as it can work wonders for your complexion. By blocking the production of a pigment-producing enzyme, Vitamin C helps to even and brighten your skin tone.

To make the most of this radiance-boosting vitamin, choose a serum or face cream that contains Vitamin C, apply some every day, and it won’t be long before you’re enjoying a dewy glow.

7. Pamper yourself with a spa facial

Last but not least – and arguably the most enjoyable way to boost your skin’s glow – is indulging in a regular revitalising facial treatment.
