The Importance of a Body Detox
The word ‘detox’ seems to be everywhere now, with lifestyle gurus and social media influencers using the word freely to describe whatever health fad they happen to be endorsing at the time. But we think this dilutes the importance of a regular body detox.
Because detoxing, done in the right way, is incredibly beneficial and important for both our physical and emotional wellbeing. So, how do we know we need a detox and how do we go about reaping the benefits?
How Do I Know if I Need a Detox?
Most of us will benefit from taking on regular body detox periods in our lives. Life is busy, and sometimes, we might make poor food, drink and lifestyle choices other demands take over.
Does this sound familiar? Snacking between meals, grabbing convenience food between running errands, skipping meals only to binge later on and not finding the time to exercise!
Don’t feel guilty, you are not alone. These are all common habits as a consequence of living modern life.
However we then end up feeling:-

- Pick up every cold, flu and stomach bug going

When our diet and lifestyle choices are making us sick, it can be difficult to recognise the signs and signals that our body is giving to us. We end up in a vicious cycle of quite simply feeling rubbish. And the worse thing is, we might not even realise we feel rubbish!
If you take a moment, right now, to mindfully consider how you feel, you might notice that you feel quite under par. Close your eyes and think about all the different areas of your body. Do you have a low lying headache? How about your shoulders, do they feel tense and drawn upwards? What does your stomach and chest feel like? Are you bloated, feeling acidic or constipated? The chances are, you are and these are all signs that your body is crying out for a detox.
