Colon hydrotherapy also known as Colonic irrigation or colon cleansing, has been around for centuries originating from the ancient Egyptians and Greeks with historic roots in Chinese and Indian civilisation.
Why have Colon Hydrotherapy?
Colon hydrotherapy focuses on restoring the health of the large intestine and encourages it to work properly and remove old toxins and waste.
There are a number of reasons clients choose to have Colon Hydrotherapy; to ease the symptoms of gut issues such as IBS, and improve overall health of the colon.
With modern living, consuming processed and fatty foods plus the lack of exercise, our digestive systems can sometimes struggle to keep up with the strain we put it under.
This can negatively impact our bodies in many ways –
• Poor skin
By restoring the health of the Colon we can ease these symptoms.
What is involved in the treatment?
The process is straight forward, simple and lasts for approximately 50 minutes. The treatment will start with a consultation where your practitioner will discuss with you your medical history.
Purified water is gentle pumped into the rectum while the practitioner massages the abdomen stimulating the colon. This will be done a number of times until the colon is clear. The process is discrete with no mess or small.
All of our practitioners at Homefield are trained and qualified with the UK’s governing body, ARCH.
Naturopathic Practitioner Judy Merrick has been practising Colon therapy for many years now and finds it an effective way to help alleviate gut dysbiosis.
Judy says, “colon hydrotherapy is not a new treatment, but needs to be carried out by fully trained and practised professionals so that the client feels they are in safe hands. I’d heard many people say that the clean slate feeling a colonic offers, can give the kick start to better ways of eating and taking care of oneself.”
What our clients have to say
“I was at Homefield for the weekend on a detox kickstart programme, I had always wanted to try a Colonic but was a little nervous about the process and choosing a reputable practitioner. Being at Homefield I knew I was in safe hands.
The process was easy and nowhere near as daunting as I thought it would be. I left feeling much fresher and would recommend to anyone”.
