the beginning of our story

“I’m Suzanne Peck, Naturopathic Practitioner and founder of Homefield Grange. The oldest daughter to a professional footballer, perhaps it was inevitable that my career would be invested in health and fitness. A desire to create a wellness venue like Homefield Grange was sparked by a transformational journey I witnessed at my first ever retreat.”

It’s 1994 and I’m recovering from a recent wisdom tooth extraction. It’s my first night and I’m sitting in the dining room, staring at a bowl of soup, whilst listening to the tragic story of a fellow retreater.

Meet Maggie, an elegant 64 year old who has been bitten by a mysterious insect three months earlier, on her walking trip to the Rocky Mountains. Due to the infection that has spread through her body, she is now unable to stand. (I’d watched Geoffrey, Maggie’s husband, push her wheelchair through reception on arrival that morning).

Antibiotics, steroids, creams and enforced rest had done nothing to help. Maggie was desperate to get well and researched detoxing. So – here we both were. Perhaps the universe had bought us together for a reason!

The week unfolded – cleansing juices, plant based food, purified water, saunas, steam rooms, colon hydrotherapy, massages, contrast showers, early nights, meditation, yoga, – the detox began to work its magic and although it sounds ‘happy clappy’ – I felt deeply connected to myself in a way I’d never thought possible.

It’s ‘going home’ day – and I’m standing in reception, waiting for my mum to collect me. I am eternally grateful that she was running late that morning, otherwise I might have missed it – the tears of joy Geoffrey had steaming down his face as his Maggie ran towards him. He swept her up into his arms and when finally, her feet touched the ground, they walked out of the retreat together…

that moment was the day I began dreaming of a Homefield.

OUR VALUES & BELIEFS

live life well

Our belief is that health is a corner stone to feel good about yourself, and the world around you.

educate and inspire

At Homefield Grange we aim to inspire, educate and motivate our clients to live a healthy and vibrant life.

why we still do it

During the last few years I have lost both my mum and dad to cancer. Both died too young, with so much living left to do. There’s little doubt that losing loved ones shapes your outlook on life – their deaths have certainly served to strengthen mine – that life is for living and its worth living well.

Since 2005, thousands of clients have passed through Homefield’s gates – all with similar stories about how often the demands of life result in their own wellbeing being placed last on their list of priorities.

In just a few days of undertaking Homefield’s regime, the transformation we see every week in guests is truly remarkable. As a team we feel privileged to both witness and be partly responsible for many amazing life changing results.

We still do what we do because our inspiration continues to be YOU, our clients. Many of you return every year for your MOT, some of you come to get fit, lose weight, detox, or to recharge and recover. You share our belief that your health is truly the most important investment you can make, however if it’s the case you’ve forgotten how valuable you are, then we are happy to be your gentle reminder.
