Cancer Days at Homefield

Cancer Days at Homefield

4th February 2019

The World Health Organisation’s International Agency for Research states that every two minutes, someone in the UK is diagnosed with cancer.  These are alarming statistics and one that spa owner and director of Homefield Grange Wellness Spa, Suzanne Peck wants to tackle head-on.

Having lost both her mum and dad to cancer, then being diagnosed herself in 2016 – cancer has played a powerful role in Suzanne’s passion to help and support cancer patients – even though the norm in the wellness industry continues to turn away those whose lives are affected by the illness.

Just ahead of World Cancer Day on February 4th, Homefield has launched a specialist treatment menu for cancer patients, delivered by dedicated wellness professionals who are properly trained in holistic therapies for this condition.

Accredited by the ‘Made for Life Foundation’ – the training was developed with input from Macmillan, along with specialist oncologists and surgeons.

The treatments use 100% organic products, using ingredients including herbs, flowers, and oils, all hand blended in a Cornish laboratory.  Profoundly relaxing and gentle, the therapies are designed to offer a sense of balance, restoration, and relaxation.

Spa Director & Naturopath, Suzanne Peck said, “being diagnosed with cancer, can be frightening, stressful and brings huge levels of anxiety.  It’s the time when people need nourishing and gentle support the most.

I wanted to offer cancer patients day spa packages and treatments that offered time and space for reflection, peace, and calm – a space where they could feel confident in being looked after by caring professionals.

Homefield has a very relaxed feel about it and our clients often say that when they arrive at our gates they can feel themselves exhale and let go.  Set in 23 acres of countryside, it’s the ideal place to connect back to everything natural – even being close to nature can be deeply restorative.  It’s a fact that the body can cope better when it’s relaxed, balanced and nourished.  Reducing anxiety and worry is vital – it’s hard to imagine how devasting it is to be told you have cancer.”

A spa day at Homefield includes herbal infusions, purified water, full use of their beautiful wellness spa and a nutritious two-course lunch.

Nutrition and healthy food is a cornerstone of Homefields ethos.  Local and homegrown produce is used in Homefield’s health kitchen and prepared by qualified chefs.  All food is plant-based, free from wheat, dairy, gluten, and refined sugars.

Our reception will be happy to help you with your choices of therapies.  For prices and Homefields signature, Eat Well for Cancer Day, fill in the form below or ring, 01536 712219, daily 9 am to 5 pm to speak to a coordinator.
